- EDUCA EDTECH Group, in collaboration with UDAVINCI, will hold an event on 23 September EDUCA Global Mobility, a free online event to discuss the profiles and skills required by the European labour market and how to approach an international job search.
Why career mobility requires prior preparation
Europe does not function as a single labour market. The same profession may be in short supply in one country and in surplus in another, and a skill that is highly valued in one place may need to be supplemented by language skills or specialisation when crossing the border.
This is confirmed by the latest report on shortages and surpluses of professionals in EURES, for 2025: records 2,617 instances of shortages and 2,177 of surpluses amongst the countries analysed. The European Labour Authority, the lead author of the study, attributes a large part of these imbalances to structural factors such as demographic change, a mismatch between skills and labour market needs, and labour mobility that remains limited.
Eurostat figures for the second quarter of 2026 are in line with this trend: the vacancy rate stood at 2% across the European Union as a whole, with a high of 4.1% in the Netherlands and a low of 0.9% in Spain. Construction, administrative services, hospitality, telecommunications, and professional, scientific and technical activities account for the highest vacancy rates in the EU.
That is the scenario that EDUCA Global Mobility aims to put this into practice: understanding which market makes sense to explore, what it requires, and how to submit an application to an international recruiter.
What the meeting covers
The EDUCA Global Mobility programme focuses on preparing candidates before they begin an international job search: which skills enhance professional competitiveness, how to use LinkedIn and networking, and what to expect from a recruitment process outside Spain.
The programme also includes a section on administrative information: requirements based on nationality, destination, profession or type of contract, and where to consult official sources before taking the plunge.
Four perspectives on understanding career progression
To analyse this journey from different perspectives, EDUCA Global Mobility will bring together four experts specialising in employment, training and international professional experience:
- Brice Bibila, director of En-Aparté 360, will discuss the international job search: recruiters, recruitment processes, networking and cultural differences.
- Mercedes Poiré Romero, Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UDAVINCI, will discuss the technology and digital roles with the greatest international prospects.
- Viridiana López, CHRO of the EDUCA EDTECH Group, will share her experience of adapting to the Spanish labour market.
- Adrián Betancourt, CRO of EDUCA EDTECH Group, will talk about his integration and career development in a new market.
