- Euroinnova promotes the 11F with an online meeting of STEM referents
On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (11F), Euroinnova -institution integrated in EDUCA EDTECH Group-. held the online event "Now we do the science ourselves".an open streaming informative session that brought together professionals from the scientific and health fields. The objective: making real trajectories visibleThe aim is to generate public conversation and put the spotlight on the challenges that still condition women's access, retention and leadership in STEM disciplines.
The meeting brought together hundreds of people, both online and face-to-face, and combined individual interventions with a round table discussion moderated by Ana TamayoEuropean Joint Action communications officer EU-JAMRAI at the Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS). Throughout the day, the speakers shared experiences, learnings and reflections that connect with a common idea: without referents, the vocation is extinguished; with referents, the future is broadened.
Benchmarks that lead the way
Among the protagonists of this edition, three profiles stood out that represent, from different spheres, the same reality: talent is advancing, but barriers have not disappeared.
The Dr. Marta Alarcón Riquelmescientific director of the centre GENyOThe researcher focused his intervention on the critical moments of the research itinerary and on how barriers - explicit and implicit - appear throughout the scientific career.
"Curiosity is vital... The passion you put into it plays a big role. You always have to try until you reach your goal"He concluded, underlining the importance of perseverance and purpose in highly demanding contexts.
For its part, the Dr. Elisabet Suárez VargasProfessor at the University of Granada and researcher specialising in sustainable construction, addressed the relationship between vocation, opportunities and the real application of knowledge. In her speech, she focused on a particularly relevant message for the technical professions:
"Continuous training is essential throughout one's professional life."He stressed the need to keep pace with technological and market changes.
The day was also attended by the Dr. Amira Alkourdi Martínezgynaecological surgeon, deputy medical director and health communicator, who shared a personal view on breaking down barriers in traditionally masculinised environments. She recalled an anecdote that marked her trajectory: a colleague of her father asked her "why he was making a speciality of a man". From this experience, he claimed the value of information and dissemination to reduce fears and inequalities:
"I realised that women didn't understand how their bodies worked... That's when I realised that information was necessary.".

Beyond the ephemeris
"Now we do the science ourselves" was born with the desire that 11F should not remain a one-off gesture, but that it should act as a lever for vocational guidance, confidence and visibility. In the words of Jaime Martín, CMO and Communication Director of EDUCA EDTECH Group:
"As an educational institution, we have the responsibility to promote initiatives that do not remain on the ephemeris... it is a space for learning and reflection, with references that speak from experience and without filters.".
From EDUCA EDTECH Group, this type of meeting is aligned with a broader vision: building editorial projects and valuable spaces that connect training, trends and real opportunitiesThe project will reinforce the positioning of each institution in its own territory and provide measurable impact on reputation and community.
